Brooklyn

Brooklyn is named after the Dutch Village: Breukelen. Until 1898 Brooklyn was not a part of New York City. Brooklyn has most inhabitants of the five boroughs. Brooklyn is connected to Manhattan with the Hugh L. Carey tunnel, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Manhattan Bridge and the Williamsburg Bridge. The Brooklyn Bridge is really popular and typical in images of New York City. Walking the Brooklyn Bridge is a great way to see the Manhattan skyline.

Brooklyn has a lot of parks like Brooklyn Bridge Park, Empire Fulton Ferry Park and Prospect Park. Brooklyn is divided in neighborhoods, some popular neighborhoods that are worthwhile to visit are: Williamsburg, DUMBO, Greenpoint, Park Slope and Coney Island. Brooklyn has many restaurants and hotels and it may be a pleasant alternative to spend your nights in Brooklyn instead of Manhattan.
